Metropolis2018.11.09 - 2018.12.10
“While exploring places, I’m building another dimension, a personal imagery….”
Born in 1983, Renato D’Agostin is no mere street photographer or humble documenter of cities. Whether he’s exploring Venice, Paris, Los Angeles or Istanbul, capturing the elemental power of Niagara Falls or an acrobatic airshow in rural Italy, his work is all about forging a unique connection with his subject.
Tul Hirunyalawan – Reminiscence2018.09.24 - 2018.11.07
“The magic of freezing a fleeting moment. To be able to capture what’s meant to disappear in split second, and to be taken back in time to relive all those passing moments — long-forgotten emotions and disappearing feelings all over again.”
Still Unposed2018.08.08 - 2018.09.22
Featuring images from UNPOSED, the follow-up INDIAN UNPOSED, and his ongoing state-of-the-nation documentation of his homeland, this exhibition offers a brief yet true glimpse of Semetko’s technical brilliance and humanist vision. His gift for framing, for timing and for using relations between subjects to create impact or hint at a story is writ large. But in these spur-of-the-moment images we also find something deeper – a levity and even, at times, a commentary on the human condition. Whether he’s revealing humour or hidden beauty, illuminating the foibles of man or our need for intimacy, Semetko is that rare thing: a photographer who helps us see the everyday differently.

Ralph Gibson2018.05.08 - 2018.06.26
When the American art photographer Ralph Gibson began taking nudes in the early 1960s, they were windows into shared, private moments. “I would photograph girlfriends in domestic situations and say ‘hold it’ and would grab them walking across the room, getting a glass of water or something,” he told Eric Fischl in an interview for his 2009 book Nude. If the resulting image had a cinematic power or gestural implication it often had more to do with luck than intention. But that changed in the 1980s, when he began approaching the nude “as a total body of work” and tirelessly refining his attitude towards it. Captured moments became considered, pre-determined poses.
Ralph Gibson Master Class2018.05.07 - 2018.05.09
The intensive 3-day master class in Bangkok will start with Gibson giving a brief talk about his work and an in-depth review of each participant’s portfolio. Each day will have a different topic of practical work, followed by a discussion of the work shot the previous day. During this time you will have the opportunity to have Gibson provide his valuable feedback about your work and offer advice for the day’s shoot ahead.
